Does a church need an alcohol lisence?
If a church serves wine would they need a lisence to do that?
Answers:
Churches are exempt from needing an alcohol license as long as what is used/dispensed is for religious ceremonies. If they wish to serve it at a banquet, social gathering, etc. that is NON-ceremonial, then they need to contact their local city/county government for a temporary alcohol permit, known in some states as a "Banquet Permit".
the churche doesn't need alcohol
Nope. Seperation of church and state.
No -- they are not selling wine.
Grocery stores don't have liquor licenses as a rule either but they are allowed to sell beer and wine.
if they don't can I open a bar called "the temple" without a liquor license?
I think you only need a license to sell it.
Serves wine, as in the rite of Communion?

I think every church should get licensed to serve alcohol- imagine what that would do for attendance!?
But no, I don't believe they need one unless they sell the wine.
