Should Maddy McCanns parents be charged with child endangerment?
If every parent that lost a child due to their own neglect were exempt from legal responsibility because of the weight of that loss, then society has failed to protect children.

Yes, what kind of semi-responsible parent goes out and leaves their child alone so they can eat/party/etc. Two women went out partying in Phila. and one of the children they left home alone 'sleeping' started a fire playing with matches. There were a number of children in the home and at least two died from the resultant fire.these women were charged so why not the McCanns. No one denies their grief, is it more sympathetic than the grief of the mothers in North Philadelphia who lost their children in the fire? I think if they were charged with neglect, even if they didn't have a direct relation to the abduction of Maddy, it would set a precident that maybe more parents 'of means' would think twice before going 'to dinner' and leaving small children unattended.
yes, to say these 2 are doctors they are incredibly naive
It seems almost horrible to say because I know these people are hurting but it just seemed so odd to me that they left their children unattended to go to dinner. I don't care how close they were and how often they were check on, it's just not responsible parenting to leave children unattended.
I truly pray that this little girl is found unharmed and I hope this is a wake-up call for any parent who would consider leaving their children unattended.
WOW!! This is a touchy subject. I for one would not leave my child alone and go out eating. Apparently though it is done alot in other countries. There are to many crazy people out there. When someone wants to take a child 99% of the time it is not going to turn out pretty. I think the McCanns know that they were wrong but who needs to be told "I told you so" at a time like this. I know I would not--unfortunately there is a little girl that might never be found. But this case got national attention! thousands of children are missing and noone ever blinks a eye about them. We live in a very sick world today and our children are not safe alone.

Well I don't think they should be charged for murder because I believe they are innocent. As for child neglect, put it this way, if they had been living on benefits in a council house I suspect they would already have been charged. The doctor status has helped there.
They always say that it happens when you least expect it. But to be in a foreign country and be away from your children where cannot see them with your eyes or monitor their entry/exit is just plain stupid.
I have a little girl so I feel so much for them but in the end Im sorry but it is their fault 100%. I pray that she is ok. Also I would love to be first in line for revenge on the people who are so sick to take away a child.
what about really fat parents..that make their kids fat also...does this fall into the same category of responsiblity? society doesnt protect them does it??
yes .. and also be charged with Murder ...they both know far more to what happened . there making ££££ from this and that makes me want to puke . as a father of 4 i know what they would be doing rather than doing the "Max Clifford Tour" ... Putting up some of the thousands they have in the bank to find the killer , But that would only make more people look at them ..!! ( oopps not a good idea when you have killed your own child )... there is no such thing as society. It's everyone for his or herself and f*ck the rest!
They should be investigated by Social Services as soon as they are back in the U.K. In my opinion, what they did in Portugal they probably did here and if they are not investigated, the case may start a precedent and, "McCanns Defence" get into common usage.

yes yes yes their child would not be in this horrible situation if they were responsible parents. what on earth were they thinking leaving children that young unaccompianied!!
