Is this question/statement ethical?

Is this a school question?
Although it seemed quite important in 1788 amendment _____, barring the quartering of soldiers in private?
homes, is outdated today.
A. IV
B. III
C. V
D. II

Why why why would a textbook or teacher state that one of our constitutional amendments is outdated today if there is no hidden socialist agenda?

BTW, the answer is 'B'.

Answers:
It is not unethical. Ethics only apply to here and now so while that amendment was important in 1788 it does not matter today. There is no "socialist agenda" ... the question does the same thing that every voter does in this country ... it questions the constitution and whether it is right and wrong and whether it is outdated. So essentially what the teacher is doing is introducing the student to the world of politics.

Actually, quartering troops in private homes is not 'socialist'. A ban against it was included in the Bill of Rights because King George III did it in the colonies, and you could hardly call him a socialist.

It is seen as outdated because nobody does this anymore, force private citizens to board soldiers in their homes. It's just not the way the military works anymore.
Because it is simply not relevant today. Of course no one would want to be forced to quarter soldiers in our homes during war time, it simply has not been an issue in 100's of years and is not likely to become one again any time soon. Think about it, when was the last war fought on American soil? It's been a while . . . Therefore, it is outdated.
Also, I don't think you are thinking of socialism correctly. It is neither "socialist" nor unethical to introduce critical thought to students, even if it is critical of the Constitution.
