What's that scam where photographers take your picture but keep a copy?

This guy want to take pictures of me but instead of me paying for his time he wants to keep a copy of the photos.

Answers:
It's not a scam, it's simply an agreement between two people where the photographer provides a service and gains compensation by retaining the right to distribute the pictures.

NECK-ED?
There is usually an agreement about copyrights to the photos. Demand a contract before you retain his services and come to a mutual agreement (in writing) regarding the use of them.
It's not a scam, it is usually refered as TFP (time for portfolio), you and the photographer exchange pictures for each others portfolios.
