Write an essay telling your opinion on the following issue: Should health care be free of charge, or should its costs be shared by individuals and governments? Mention the reasons to support your opinion

Answers:
Governments derive their funding through taxation. Essentially you're asking whether individuals with the means should pay for health care indirectly through the government or directly to the health care provider. It assumes those who are unwilling to pay for health care have a RIGHT to it regardless.

Why is paying for our own health care not an option in this assignment? Keep in mind "health care" is NOT a right granted by the US Constitution, it's a service industry (think organic plumbing). We're all going to die. The question is: Do you want to LIVE in a free country, or a country dictated by a small, exclusive ruling class?

This assignment essentially asks how socialist/communist should our government be. My response is we should have no socialism in a country founded upon the noble idea that man should be free.

Both of your choices are the same if healthcare is free of charge then its costs are shared by individuals and governments.

How about you pay for you healthcare and I will pay for mine.
Free of charge? Your teacher is smoking something funky. "There's no such thing as a free lunch," so focus on WHO needs to pay and how an essentially limited resource can be fairly divided (fair doesn't mean equal, it means even-handed among competing interests with varying claims).

Personally, I only support government assistance for the most needy of citizens or perhaps when it comes to preventative testing. Even that should, constitutionally, be handled by the states.
Is this your homework assignment?
essay, hahahaha, this is Y!A not debate class, bugger off.
Usually I write essays for homework..
So by free you would be implying that we have doctors and nurses and hospital staff who are willing for work for no wages. We have hospitals that don't cost any money to build or maintain, all utilities are free, equipment and supplies are free, and all insurance costs are free? In other words there is no such thing as free. Someone WILL pay and it will be the tax payers.
Neither. There is no such thing as a free lunch (or health care) so if it is free to citizens when they go in for some form of health care, it is paid for by the taxpayers (individuals NOT governments). So if you mean should we charge individuals as they use it, or charge every taxpayer, then I'd say the individual should be paying for what they use. Don't get me wrong, the current form that we have in America is not working, but I'd take this over universal health care which would be paid for by individuals who make more money. I do not yet make much money but I plan on it soon. I don't think some guy who has an MBA and worked his tail off to make 6 or 7 figures should be paying for my broken finger. How is that "fair?"
That is a big problem with this country today, everybody wants to solve every problem with the most inefficient organization in the history of mankind, GOVERNMENT! Why don't we let people use their own money for what they want to spend it on. If Joe Shmoe wants to get hooked on crack, let him deal with and pay for the consequences, not me, not you , not people who succeed. If John Shmoe decides to work his tail off in HS, make his way to College, graduate, and find a good job, why should he be forced to pay for losers like his brother unless he chooses to? Excuses are made when these questions are asked, (some people don't have a choice, some people just grow up in bad neighborhoods etc. etc.) but there is no good answer. Everyone has or had the chance to go to grade school and High School and there are consequences, positive and negative that people live with. I grew up lower middle class, mom a waitress, dad a construction worker, I did not have a college fund, I received scholarships, and worked full time to graduate. I am working my way up now, paying off loans, working my tail off so that I may some day reap the benefits of what I'm doing now. That does not include paying for someone else's food, rent, health care, or retirement unless I choose to do so.
So no, taxpayers should not pay for everyone else's health care, it is inefficient, and it is wrong. If that happens, everyone will be going in for every little problem with the idea that, "well, I'm not paying for it." The best doctors will not be paid what the market is offering, so they will go elsewhere. The scientists that develop the medicines will not make what the market would otherwise offer, so they will put their efforts elsewhere as well. Look at other countries with universal health care, the best and brightest are not doctors, in fact some of the smartest in those countries are vets (and I don't mean war vets). People wait for months to see a doctor for serious issues sometimes to be told that they only do X amount of those surgeries a year and you are number X + 12, so you will have to wait a while to get the care you need. With all that said, I will refer back to a statement I made earlier, the current form of health care here is not working, and I believe changes must be made.
