I realize that the cops are always right, but what about security guards?

["I've got to wonder what kind of moron would Tase an adult holding a baby," said George Kirkham, a former police officer and criminologist at Florida State University. "It doesn't take rocket science to realize the baby is going to fall."]
Answers:
This security guard is obviously a hero. He was going to stop that baby from getting kidnapped by his parents (wait.does that sound right?) at ALL costs! Just like in the movies!!
Just because he took the baby down too, and he forgot that the man couldn't have left the hospital with the baby- that shouldn't overshadow his heroic efforts!
And just to clarify: The baby is the property of the hospital, until child protection services takes custody.
Thug mentality.can't help themselves.
They have also now pointed out that the infant was wearing one of those anti-kidnapping wrist bands, so the elevator door would not have opened.
Who said Cops were always right though?

There ya go Dogsnoop, gave you a thumbs up. I agree that security guards do frequently have that attitude-usually because so many of them are people who couldnt pass the physical, intelligence, or psychological tests to become real cops.
Security Guards are right75% of the time, unfortunately this was the other 25% you mentioned. That was very dumb to do that. That poor baby must have been horrified, watching a tased person is not pretty!
Oh and this couple sounds like a pair of real winners.
History of domestic violence. Vulgar talking to hospital staff. Taking the baby without permission.
Real winners there.
I wouldn't have Tasered the guy. He wasn't going anywhere with that child. No one is right a 100% of the time, even the police. This would have been a big time violation of policy in my agency and I am glad I'm not his supervisor.
The mom and dad are winning at the game of life anyway. DHS has the child because the dad is a wife beater and the mom was dumb enough to have a kid with him. The baby would be better off being raised by squirrels then these two.
