Neighbor puts up ugly sign?

I recently moved into a new house at the end of a street. And at the end of the street the road basically just ends with enough room to three-point turn if you need to turn your car around. There is also a little "alcove" where there is clearly enough room to park a car or two. Right before this "alcove" there are two clearly marked "no parking" signs put up by the city. However, on the street, parking is a bit tight and since no one comes down the street (unless u live there) I have occasionally parked in the "no parking" area as has my neighbor who lives directly across the street from me.
Recently my neighbor must have decided that he didn't want anyone else parking in the "no parking" alcove and took it upon himself to take a large used piece of plywood and spray paint "no parkin" on the wood and place it in front of the alcove next to his car. So, my questions is two-fold. How do I determine if my neighbor actually owns the "no parking" alcove? And two, are there any

Determining if it is his :
If you know his name you can look up his deed at the County Clerks office which should have his plot description of what he owns. If you dont, you might be able to use your tax ID to ask the tax assessor to figure out what that property is, and thereby locate the deed. If the deed doesnt spell it out using physical landmarks (stone wall, trees, pipes in ground etc) only way to really know would to be to find an old survey or map of the property owned by the Town and rule it out.

Rules: Might want to contact the Town/Villiage, often they have their own sight/noise, property beauty type codes and restrictions.

As long as the sign is on the neighbor's property and there are no local ordinances against it, then it is legal.

Also, since there are 'no parking' signs already erected, NEITHER you nor your neighbor may park there. Simple huh?
Steal the sign in the middle of the night, i'm sure you aren't the only neighbor with the same problem, maybe you will be doing them a favor too.
Go to your land titles office and get the legal decription of the land in your neighbors name. Depending on where you live, you may or may not be able to decipher if he owns the peice of land. If you cannot, you may have to enlist the help of a surveyor who can tell you where his property begins and ends. If he does not own the property and the municipality does, you can simply take the trashy sign down. If he or someone else owns the property I wouldn't touch any thing.
Call the city and report the eyesore. Chances are they won't show up right when you call, but with a little luck he will be parked there when they do.
I wish I had the answer, but I don't. I do want to let u know that your neighbors SUCK! I mean they r BIG loosers! I think u should call the home owners association or the owner to your apartment complex and get this guy in trouble. If they don't do any thing, spare the trouble and just move. GOOD LUCK!!! :)
Sounds like he put the sign on a city easement that is owned by the city. He can't put it there and the local building inspector can tell him to remove it. Of course then he just will put it in his yard. You probably can't win and you should just shoot him the finger every time you see him.
Whenever we have problems with our neighbors we pull out the pink plastic flamingos - the kind that are illuminated - and place them all over our front lawn. Eventually someone will ask us to remove them and then we negotiate . . . .
What if you backed into the sign by accident while trying to maneuver a three point turn. Just make sure your bumper contacts the sign and not your hood...
Just let him park illegally. If the town/city has posted No Parking signs, then call the police. If is usually drunk and the police arrive, he would be able to move his vehicle because then he would be found to be DUI. You can place a call to the police station and request that you remain anonymous. Yeah, a bit extreme but, if you can't just let him has his way ( control issue) then you need to do something. Definitely, remove his eye sore. But, after that, try not to park in the NO Parking zone. I realized that you mentioned that the parking is tight but, sometimes the lesser of the two evils, is the best choice.I hope that this has helped some. Good Luck.
If the sign is on his property, then you are stuck with an ugly sign. If it's not on his property, call the city to have it removed.. ALSO, wait until he parks in the no parking zone, and call the city to have him towed.
