If a dog attacks my dog and injures my dog and I kick the crap out of the attacking dog, can I be sued?
Answers:
HELL NO! If the owner of the dog didn't have the dog under control, knowing the dog was vesious, you should sew him/her! Thats bull shi--------, if they sue you!!!
Not if you run away quick.
Of course you can be sued. You can be sued for anything. It doesn't mean that the other person will win. But it does mean that you will probably be out the money to hire an attorney. If you were defending your dog, then your contact was probably justifiable, but you may still be subjected to suit.
Assuming that your dog was on a leash and the attacking dog was not, I would think it's owner wouldn't have a leg to stand on in a court of law. You didn't kill it, did you? Good luck.
Depends on the state you are in but in some states, yes you can. So to be safe do not do it! Just separate the dogs!
Yes, you can be... (you can be sued for ANYTHING, remember) Was this at a dog park? Was your dog on-leash, or off? If off, was it in an area requiring pets to be restrained?
If this has really happened to you and this isn't a hypothetical question; take your own dog to the vet ASAP so you have documented proof that your dog was injured and that you weren't just over-reacting to a dog "disagreement" rather than a vicious attack. Did your dog hurt the other dog at all? Were stitches involved for either?
How seriously did you "kick the crap" out of the other dog? Did you continue taking your anger out on it after the fight was over? Did you get bit at all during all of this?
Yes if you hurt the dog. Doesnt that suck.
