DOES ANYONE KNOW OF HELP i CAN GET WITH SHUTOFF NOTICES IN DETROIT BESIDES D.H.S.?

My cousin had a heart attack and couldn't work. Unfortunately she fell behind in her bills and now her lights, gas and water has been cut off .They have told her the only help she can get from any agency in Detroit was DHS. DHS is declining to assist even though she had kids because there was a lack of payment for at least three months. Are there any other agencies that can help in Detroit?

Answers:
Contact the Catholic Church, or other churches and they have programs to help in these cases.

There is this agency called "pay your bills on time", it's sponsored by "get a job".

As effective as the "job" answer is, its never popular in here.
I'd try some of your local church organizations. I sure wouldn't expect any mercy or help from the government or the utility companies. Good luck...
I didn't know DHS could Deny due to the fact that she has children. If they won't help call some local churches, I know several people that have been helped through a church. It may take numerous calls before you find one that will help. But it is worth a try.
