I would try your local state website, use the search engine for the specific types of laws you are looking into. Or you could try a federal website too. It all depends on what you are looking for and who regulates those laws. For example, here in Canada, family law is a provincial law (with the excpetion of the divorce act of canada) and criminal law is regulated by the federal government. On the off chance you are canadian, try:
