PLEASE tell me what this means?

The private life of a nonpublic citizen is subject to public scrutiny

This is a true/false question on a practice test..what does this mean?

Answers:
I'll let you figure out the answer.

However, what it means is that if you are a normal citizen, not in the public eye (such as a politician, performer or other such), you may have things written and said about you without regard to personal privacy statutes.

Now, better asked, "If you are joe blow, can the public treat you on the same level as they do Michael jackson in publication and/or innuendo?"

IT MEANS YOU SHOULD HAVE STUDIED FOR THE TEST.
the answer would be false, though you must remember ... in todays world ... your only private life is that which you live behind closed doors, closed windows and closed blinds.
true
From a Journalism stand point the answer is false. Public figures (Lindsey Lohan, Brit Spears etc.) Public officals (Govs, Prs etc.) are not entitled to the same privacey rights as private citizens they open themselves up to more scrunity than private citizen. However that scrunity must be accurate or the public figure has more room for a lawsuit than a private citizen because the media can affect the public figures ability to earn were inaccurate coverage of a private citizen may not affect his lively hood although still a crime. Remember when Tom Cruise was reported to be gay. Its been a while but for me, but I hope this gets you on the right track and closer to a better answer, think about media law.
The answer is "true".

Illustration: If your ex-wife wants to, she can write a book about you, describing whatever intimate details she can muster.

It does not matter if you are a "nonpublic" person. Your your private life can be scrutinized publicly.
