New Zealand Prostitute Reform Act 2003 / Fair Trading Act 1986?
OK first things first No, I have never paid for a sex worker and the point of this question is not to debate this so get over it or move on.
My questions relates to what I think would be a fascinating test case if anyone ever wanted to take it to court ..
Questions:
1. What if went to see 'Suzie' who says she is 23 years and size 8. I find infact that she is 43 and size 12 .. is this false advertsing?
2. What if a make an appointment to see 'Candy' then cancel at the last minute.. Is she entitled to some refund for her inconvenience and possible loss of other earnings?
3. What if I go to see 'Honey' and am not "totally satisfied" as she claims in her advert .. Am I entitled to a refund?
4. What if the picture of 'Girlie' (sorry running out of ideas) is not the girl I end up meeting... is this false advertising ?
There are probably more but you get the idea ...
Answers:
In Nevada prostitution is legal and I worked in a brothel there. I can tell you that in general legalization laws are about money and health. They provide a safe atmosphere for prostitutes to work in and in return reap huge amounts of money from the people who run the brothels in addition to tax revenue.
I doubt you would have much recourse if you were unhappy with your (theoretical) experience. The prostitutes are usually hired by the houses as Independent Contractors so the house is not responsible for how happy the clients are and no one would bother to sue for false advertising because there would be no money in it.
That's just the United States, but I hope it helps!
it definently would be an interesting casse they should make it legal so you or whoever is found in this situation can make some monney!
