We are all familiar with the image of Lady Justitia. Why is she blindfolded?

Why is she blindfolded? Why do popular parodies show her lifting the blindfold to get a peek?

Answers:
Justice is supposed to be blind so as to ensure that any who seek justice will be treated fairly and equally. When she is depicted as peeking, the implication is that she will be treating one who has come before her with deference due to their position, group, fame or wealth.

She is blindfolded so as to be able to make an unbiased decision. And the first poster has the rest right, in my opinion.
Becasue justice is supposed to be blind.
