how many of you know that our mps aretrying to put in a pedestrian congestion charge in the most used retail areas of london. your card will be read and you will get a letter in 7 days saying your account will be deducted £1 per day . this is aplan in the making. you can look it up on the "mayor watch" site and a few others. what a rippoff

Politicians come up with ideas all the time. It does NOT mean they will be implemented. Given that this has had negligible press coverage, I would say this is destined for the dustbin, if it exists at all.
Are you joking? If you're not this is a total rip off. Not only will we not have freedom of speech, we also won't have freedom to walk in our own country !! What the h e l l is this country coming too !!! x

Likely to make us all fly from regional airports, to shop where our custom is wanted, I can get to Paris quicker than London anyway! Just think of all that VAT they're going to miss out on, not to mention the congestion charge....yep! be quicker and cheaper, to go to Paris for the day! what about people taking stuff back..will they get a rebate?
Won't happen, retailers have too much clout, we are after all a nation of shop keepers....doh....was a Frenchman who said that wasn't it! Lol
