Does anyone have information regarding the corruption evident in American jails during the 80's?
Please provide specific examples if you can. Links to websites are much appreciated.

Why do you believe it stopped in the 80's? The most evident corruption is the ever-present cry for more $$$$. The corruption of the prisons goes far beyond just the cons. It is also extended into their hiring practices, liability, and workers comp. practices. Ask a con about the additional penalties and other violations of human indecencies commited without public view. Then you have a bunch of idiot kids who think they are above these same people. Riots are started because of these people. A jail which houses more people than it is rated for is known to be illegal but happens. You have men on the floor. The cops know it is illegal, but they do it anyway. Most of the people they house are for petty offenses but they kidnap you, make you stay at their jails, then some have even gone so far as to expect to be paid for this treatment. What do they pay prisoners for a day's work? OOPS! We could bankrupt the legal system in 2 seconds if the injustices they commit were brought out! You want specifics watch the news and cops!
