Why PAID VACATIONS for WRONGFUL ACTS?

Why is it when a cop beats some guy to a bloody pulp FOR NO REASON WHATSOEVER ... or throws a grand mom down the stairs because she RESISTS ARREST FOR NOT WATERING HER LAWN ...

Why do these PUBLIC SERVANTS get REWARDED with PAID VACATIONS (suspensions) for doing such unlawful acts.

You know - acts that if you were to do it - you would get the vacation behind bars with some guy named Wandah as a room mate smiling large while holding a tiolet brush in his hand.

Something seem backwards here?

Answers:
They arent paid vacations. If you have vacation time saved up and you get suspended while an investigation takes place, you have to still be able to pay your bills. What would happen if the cops that were wrongfully accused of assaulting someone got suspended with no pay pending investigation, just to find out a month or two afterwards that nothing happened? That cop and his/her family would have no money to eat or support themselves.

How's this for a strange concept: people are assumed innocent until proven guilty through due process of law, and that includes policemen.
I'd be very careful slinging around phrases like "for no reason whatsoever." You could be hurt by the guy who does that most. There is a man who routinely sends victims to my ER beaten up for no reason. His name is Some Dude. I can't tell you how many times I've heard the same story. The victim was just standing around, doing nothing, when Some Dude came up and beat the crap out of him. If this man can ever be caught and jailed, the country will be a lot less dangerous.
