Is it illegal to burn the Russian flag in Russia, as a sign of protest, on private property?

Answers:
Although I do not know the statutes, I would imagine it is. The administration of Vladimir Putin is authoritarian enough that disrespect of the state or the government, even if not technically outlawed, would still be grounds for arrest.

Don't do it! You are likely to regret it if you do.

It is best to think of national flags as something owned by the government and if you buy one what you are really doing is buying the right to display it.

If you do that it will generally keep you out of trouble.
