Do we require reservations for the development of the country?

no not at all. reservation does not develop the country. we must not have castes. we must see the performance and not the caste or religion.
I think v have, but it should be given by those who really backward. Most of the cases v see it's quite opposit. They may be rich & not good @ education but still they r considering as Backward. This is the situation v have in our country. That should be changed.
At the present period i think talent, hardwork ,truth and intelligence should be given more importance than reservations.

reservation are not meant for development of the country..
They are to push up the backward classes who are a big hindrance to country development ...
But the Idea is damaged and now what today see is politicians are linking the development of nation with reservations...
We know that in reservations a lower qualified person is equals a upper qualified person... the 1st one cannot provide the required effort for the upliftment of national status while compared to the 2nd one...
So Reservations cannot be provided in all the sectors and thus needs a restriction to some only..

Reservation is necessary in some manner.. but complete reservation is not such good for nations economy and administration...
Reservations are ok till a level where the child becomes mature enough to see what is good and what is bad for him as an individual as well as his society. Generally this level comes as we complete our higher secondary (schooling). After this stage, I think there is no need for reservation. If this grown up child still needs to be spoon-fed, then he must be stopped. He must prove himself to the society for getting everything further, from higher education to a job.
Another aspect is economic condition of the individual. If this child comes from an economic background where his parents can afford to send him to school and promote him to study, then he doesn't need extra support from government in the form of reservation. But, if his parents are poor and cannot send him to school then, its onus on the government to give him proper education till the time he matures enough to think of his career.
In the case of reservations given for higher education, the only eligible are those who have already proved themselves at school levels and cannot pursue higher education only due to monetary reasons. They must get a chance at that level too.
Reservation is not for development. It is to reduce the inequality in the country. To avoid reservation the only solution is intercaste marriages. The energy which is being used in protests against reservations should be used to enourage intercaste and inter-religion marriages.
