For what purpose? To live here? A tourist visa can normally be processed in a couple weeks and there's a $100 application fee. The tourist is usually allowed to stay up to 90 days. In some countries it is exceptionally hard to get one for coming to the United States.
If you want to get married to a foreigner you must first go to that person's country and meet him/her. After that you can file a petition with the CIS for your fiance/fiancee. It will take from 6 months up to a year to process and issue the visa. You have to get married within 90 days of his/her arrival.
Work visas are on a quota and only being given out to college educated professionals in certain high demand occupations. There's a yearly quota that's full for 2007. The next shot will be 2008.
Foreigners are NOT allowed to join the American military.
Money is quickest ! If you have 10 million dollars and you want to move here so you can invest it all into the United States economy (start a business for example) then your in baby !
Also if you have a special skill we want that will work fine.
