Why can't something be done about government spending? see prime example?
I workin a federal prison. We recently had our radios(like walkie-talkies) updated. There about 750 radios for our complex. The government paid 2200 usd a peice for these things. Lets multiply that out 2200 X 750 = 1650000 !! That is truely outrageous. I have priced them at the local radio shack for $299. What can be done about this? This just one example of Government Money(our tax dollars) being wasted. Why can't soemthing be done. Can't people do something about this? This really get's me upset every time I think about it.

I THINK THAT YOU SHOULD EMAIL NANCY PELOSI AND TELL HER ABOUT THE SITUATION. SHE HAS SAID THAT THE DEMS WOULD PUT AN END TO ALL WASTE OF MONEY.
Inform your superior about the savings in changing the radios so that appropriate action can be done. The problem with government purchases is that the higher a bidder gives commission to the official in charge, the more likely the said bidder will be accommodated even if the government will suffer. Thus, report the irregularities.
It seems that if you cut the budget then when you need money it will be reallocated...Like say your salary....It is the way government works when you run low on the money you have to spend then the people that sold you the outrageous radios will go into arbitrary negotiations and loose some of the profit. If you have enough the brother of the warden will get a but load of money..That is the logic that I see
