Help me on this?

what exacly is a civil arrest and what are the standards for a citizen to issue one?

i am slightly familiar with them, well, at least the basics. a civil arrest is the action of a citizen arresting a suspected criminal. that's as far as i know, but can anyone elaborate? thank you.

Answers:
Our society has reached a point where the criminals can press civil charges against citizens making arrests, so it hardly applies. But, it basically means a civilian can hold a criminal until the police arrive.

it is not only that you arrest anyone by yourself but if you know anyone suspected and you call police and get him arrested it is also known as civil arrest.
