Answers:
they do, where the hell do you live? it's constantly in the papetrs, some kids vandalizes some property, and the parents get ythe bill. you must live in an isolated neighborhood, or a pretty liberal anti punishment state, like California or Massachusettes, you know, where only white males over 21 do anything illegal, otherwise there just victims too, and they can't be held responsible for there own actions.

B/c my parents would be broke then. Not b/c of me. I didnt get in that trouble yet.
y does you had such horred grammer?
They do.
In many states parents often have to pay!

You also need to remember when you toss the word "child Criminals", you are talking about children that a delinquency petition has been filed on! They are charged with many things that you would not be charged with as they are not adult crimes!
They do. But They Shouldn't. This is the type of situation you hear about the rich mommy and daddy paying their kid to go to college blah blah blah thinking they are all good but then the kid goes to his or hers ffirst party and gets drunk and makes stupid mistakes.now is it the parent's fault? no. so shut up
If you are talking about a juvenile defendant in juvenile court, the parents can be ordered to pay as part of the juvenile case (since the parents are technically a party).

There are also potential civil claims against the child (or the child's parents) that might be covered by the parent's insurance policies.

If you are talking about a "child" who is being charged in adult criminal court, the parent's can't be ordered to pay as they are no longer parties. The child can be ordered to pay if the child is placed on probation. Failure to pay restitution is a grounds for revoking and incarcerating a criminal defendant.
To the first answerer: I doubt that the questioner lives in " liberal, anti-punishment California", as California does impose financial liability on parents for the tortious acts of minors, at least in civil court. To impose responsibility in criminal court, however, would require separate criminal liability. (I am not familiar with juvenile court--talking general criminal here.)
And, by the way, the current California Supreme Court is not particularly liberal nor is Arnold known as an "anti-punishment liberal".
