How long does a sex offender from Florida have to register in NY after he has arrived here?
He is now living here and been here almost 2 weeks.I just want to make sure he does what he is suppossed to do or suffer the consequences.He was registered but left without informing anybody.He is not on parole but still has to register.

If Im making the law it would be 24 hours; whether or not he intends to reside in a peticular state!

"ยง 168-k. Registration for change of address from another state
1. A sex offender who has been convicted of an offense which requires registration under paragraph (d) of subdivision two or paragraph (b) of subdivision three of section one hundred sixty-eight-a of this article shall notify the division of the new address no later than ten calendar days after such sex offender establishes residence in this state. "
probably varies state by state, but two weeks seems like enough time no matter where you go. I'd make an anonymous call.
I am not completely sure what it is in NY but here in VA you must register within 72 hours.
