Is it unethical for movie theaters to charge $10 for a movie ticket and still show 20min of commercial?

Answers:
No.

Yes, for each commercial shown, $1 should be deducted from the ticket price.
Given that they are contractually obligated to show most of those commercials -- no it's not unethical for them to abide by their contacts with the movie distributors.
If people still buy movie tickets then they can do whatever they want. If you don't want to see commercials for 20 minutes then come 20 minutes late.
yes i agree with you on that one. on television they run commercials to make money since we dont pay them to watch each show they get their major income from advertisers. yes some is from the cable networks paying to air their show

at the movie theater they make money directly off our showing up paying the ticket price.

when we hear reports of movies grossing 100 mil or more it makes me made i have to watch a southern comfort comercial before i watch my movie and why should i have to show up after the announced start time and chance missing the beginning becuase they havent filled their pocket enough.

if they stopped paying actors 25 million dollars to remember lines then they could stop this.
Nope. Infact, it is just plain Capitalism. If you don't like it, don't go. Just wait & rent the movie.
No, because you are willing to pay it.
