If i used 1, 2 pages of copyrighted materials in my thesis, should i get permission?

What if the copyright owner is already dead or lives on an island without communication?

Answers:
You need to find a way. You don't want to be accused of copying. If anything just ask your teacher/professor

You should never include the text of the material, only a reference to the material and a summary of the information. Then refer to the copyrighted material.
It's copyrighted material. Period. And if you're working on a thesis, you have enough education to know better than this anyway.
Are you kidding? Lives on an island?? No permission=plagerism=no degree.
