Can a clerk of a store, refuse you to sell you something?

Answers:
Yes, as long as he/she aren't violating the constitution by refusing cuz of age, sex, race, etc.

Meaning if your a man he can't use that as a reason. If your 10 he/she can't use that as a reason (if other laws aren't in place such as 18 to buy cigarettes). If your black he/she can't use that for a reason either. A clerk can come up with any other reason, such as you were just rude. The clerk could say they thought you were drunk, or that it was after curfew and they don't want to be an accomplice. Maybe thought they saw you on America's most wanted. You name it

Basically, if the clerk uses a little creativity anybody can be refused service.

Absolutely
Yup.
no, unless that item requires i.d. or has an age limit, such as beer, alchohol, drugs, or weapons.
Yep! There is usually a sign that says "We have the right to refuse service to anyone", look for it next time you go into any establishment.
Oh yeah...it's their place of business. They can choose their customers as they see fit.

Somebody walks in looks like they are pumped on Heroine, they can tell them to get out.

No shirt, no shoes, no service? How about that one?
Certainly they can, and for whatever reason they choose. Any business establishment has the right to refuse a sale. In fact they can ban you from entering their place of business if they want to. I have had to ban many people from my stores over the years for various reasons. Shoplifters, ill-behaved people (either towards my customers or employees), or destructive people (intentionally destroying my store's inventory or fixtures) are not welcome in my store and will be removed from my premises by police if need be.

Now if they refuse the sale due to race, gender, sexual orientation, age, etc, they will suffer lots of bad publicity and a huge loss of sales.
Yeah. As long as there's a sign that says "We reserve the right to refuse service . . ." and there's pretty much always one of those signs.
