Why don't we legalize all drugs and take out the profit?

We could get rid of all drug crimes in short order. We also could sell them from regulated stores and use the profits to help the addicts withdraw properly.

Answers:
Because that would make WAY too much sense.

I agree
We could use the money we tax drugs to pay for more drug related accidents and the hospitals that the pillheads would fill when they overdose like the idiots they are.

Legalizing = LESS drug use? Surely you jest!
That would also reduce the profit on law enforcement's side as well. Profit is not only made by the dealers, but by the sell of seized property. Many police departments rely on these funds to finance more raids and thus more seizure of property. Although a logical solution this why no law enforcement will ever support abandoning current policy to try to actually solve the problem. Think of all the police officers, correction officers, DAs and criminal attorneys this policy would eliminate, due to the reduction of crime. Look at the Netherlands's policy and see if it supports their argument to continue this policy. Just another war we have lost and fail to admit it.
