Why should we pay taxes to support lazy bums?
I'm not talking about families that work hard and still need money here, I''m talking about moochers. Like some people get paid in cash so they don't have to pay income tax and drive around in mercedes benzes WHILE on welfare since they 'technically' are allowed to. I once saw a guy buy TWO LOBSTERS on food stamps. Pissed the hell out of me. Of course, there are some people who decide to just sit around since they get the same amount of money as they do if working on minimum wage. And then complain about foreigners (who are working really hard) taking their jobs. I'm getting sick of this. It isn't fair to everyone else. We should either cut off their money supply or raise the minimum wage.
Answers:
It we're going to start cutting income, we should start with congress. They get taxpayer funded health care, which they don't want us to have...when they were told they had to start working 5 days a week (as opposed to the usual 2 or 3) they were outraged. They give themselves a $30,000 cost of living raise every other year...and they are completely useless.
Sounds like you're describing members of Congress.
Speaking as a lazy bum, I would encourage everyone to continue to pay their taxes, as I would like to continue to enjoy my life style of eating lobster and laying around on the couch.
Thank you all very much!
I don't think many would disagree with cutting off the "moochers"... The problem is, how do you do it without cutting it off from the ones who actually do need the help?
It's unstoppable.
We pay for it because the democrats passed social programs to bribe them off for a vote. As a result, we are stuck paying it off.
Raising the minimum wage isn't the answer; the resulting inflation will negate the wage raise. Also, it is just another bribe to the poor people for a democratic vote.
Instead, we need to stop paying long term welfare and present these people the choice of working for a living or starving to death. That might motivate them to get jobs.
I hear you loud and clear. I am so pissed off at hoe their are these people across the street from my house and they gat like all the government help in the world. Their daughter is going to start school next year and is going to a public achool. Well my husband and I went to enroll our son in the same school and they told us they couldn't accept our son because we made too much money. I don't understand how making 40,000 a year is a lot for a family of five. Well my point is they have four cars all Nissan but still.
There are always going to be people who take advantage of systems set up to help people BUT the improtant thing is that there are people that are being helped. Life isn't fair. But what are we supposed to do take it away from everybody just because a few people are taking advantage of it?
If you go to the right part of town you can usually buy food stamps for 50 cents on the dollar. I used to work with a guy who did that and he was always buying some nice cuts of meat. When stuff like that is going on the goverment is handing out to much.
