Would You Start/Try Using a Now Illegal Subtance if it Were Legalized?
First, let me present the preliminary details. You have been educated about the evils that this substance poses. You have seen the results that ABUSING the substance has done to human beings.
Other semi-related facts incl:
The legalization of the substance will take billions of dollars out of the pockets of black marketeers. This money will be used (in part) to further educating against the dangers, prevention and rahab addicts and/or abusers.
Other revenues could be spent eliminating the national debt among many other worthwhile endeavors.
Bear in mind this legalization will also free up millions of dollars that are currently being wasted trying to enforce the illegalization.
Answers:
I wouldn't do it. If it's illegal now then it's probably illegal for a good reason. I already know what I want to do and what I don't want to do. If you are talking about drugs, then if I wanted it I would get it. I think that most people choose to participate in illegal acts because they want to, and that there isnt many people who choose not to do something illegal just because its illegal.
It's hard to make the brain washed masses understand that this is nothing more than a money game to the government. They aren't concerned about our safety; they are only concerned about the $$$$ that is being made off of them being illegal.
There is too much money in the illegality of drugs.
Nope...wouldn't do it.
Drugs are bad..okay?
Sure would if the benefits outweighed the risk and I truly believed that my health would be improved.....tired of the government telling me how and when to take care of my life. The FDA is useless. Stop protecting me from myself. Could this be the evil weed? LOL
unfortunately the chance for abuse is there and although we know that some illegal substances are not as bad as others the potential is there. and noone wants to be the one to start.theres a consequence to every drug you take but it depends on the person how much they use etc... but if it was to become legal as you say like ciggaretttes it would make
america create a war on somethin else and we all know thers to much money bein spent on these supposed wars
I'd have to say no!
My reasoning is this.
Let's take DDT for instance. It was an excellent pesticide but was banned many years ago. I believe in the 1940's or 50's because of the terrible things it was doing to the environment. Some studies link the extinction of the American carrier pigeon to over use of DDT.
I'm sure if it were introduced today there could be millions made because of the excellent results it has ridding us of pesky insects such as termites and mosquitoes. And , as you said, the money could be used for many other things but I believe history has taught us about the dangers and the risks are too great..
So...No if today DDT was legalized I would not use this substance.
no, there was a reason it was illegal in the first place, there is bound to be something wrong with it for lawmakers to ban it.
