How do I make a state law?

There is suprisingly little information on this on the web. I want to know how the average Joe can submit a law idea from cradle to grave. Are there templates, forms? If so, where?

Answers:
You should make an appointment with your state representative to talk with her or him about your idea. For that meeting, you'll want to have a written proposal that outlines what you hope to achieve.

Also, you should look at current state laws so you can model what you're writing on what has been acceptable previously.

Nope, that's only reserved for people in office. If you want a say in what they do, then vote and write your elected representative.
If you don't vote, then sit back and be quiet because your opinion doesn't matter.
Also, Some states have what is called a referendum, which makes direct changes to the state constitution via the voter. To even get the law on the ballot though you need a certain percentage of registered voters to sign a petition.
