Why do people not understand if I carry a gun I am not a terrorist i am an informed consumer?

I sure do not think someone is a terrorist because they carry a gun. People can have many reasons for carrying a gun. This day and age it may be quite smart to carry a weapon for self defense. When we leave town to travel, my husband always carry's a gun. Hope we never get in a situation where we need it, but better to be safe then sorry. The main thing is to be taught safety when carrying it and using it properly.

its because people who own guns, don't always use them for protection... sometimes they go bad.

People have been tought (through media and news) that guns are generally associated with bad people and therefore classify a gun carrier as a bad person
People are afraid of what they don't understand.
I was afraid of guns until my Dad taught me how to shoot and handle one responsibly.
I have to admit that I'm a little nervous about some of the butt heads carrying out there, but freedom has a price.
1) Depends on if it is legal where you are
2) depends on if you have the training to carry concealed (CCW)

3) IF YOU ARE *TRULY* CARRYING CONCEALED - WHY WOULD ANYONE KNOW THAT YOU ARE CARRYING? THE ONLY TIME IT SHOULD BE OUT IS UNDER EXTREME/APPROPRIATE CIRCUMSTANCES - you don't go bragging or waving it around . . .
A man carrying a gun is not always a terrorist because others carry a gun for legitimate purposes, protection and shooting competitions.
liberals cant believe that you could actually own a gun and use it in a sensible way. But then again what do people in new york city and such places hunt other than other people, so there its strictly protection reasons you would have a gun anyhow. Dont take away the right to protect ones self is my opinion.

The media is anti-gun. People are misinformed about guns. And some even go as far as believing that the world would be a better place without guns. All of this is of course false. What people need to realize is that people do carry guns around with good intentions. As for everyone who believes you are a terrorist, I carry concealed because i have a permit. Thats just me though. I leave with this final thought as Lao Tzu said "The more laws are made prominent the more thugs and robbers their will be." Seriously though, you have the right to own and carry a gun. Let one of them be in a store, resturaunt, or in public and some crazed shooter starts mowing down people. They'll suddenly see you as the hero when you are able to stop him. But most of those anti-gun nuts wouldn't change their opinion anyhow. Thanks for saving me by shooting that lunatic, now please turn your gun in and hopefully this won't happen again.
I guess it would depend upon who you are and where you are carrying your gun.

For example:

If you live in Arkensas and carry the gun in the gunrack mounted in your truck you are probably not a terrorist.

If you are an urban youth chillin' with your homies and you got your gat in your pocket, also probably not a terrorist.

If you are of middle eastern heritage, live in southbeach and carry a piece, also probably not a terrorist.

But if you live in Iraq, or Afghanistan and are packing an AK-47 up under your robe while you plant an IED under a pile of rubble... I'd say there is a good chance you are a terrorist.

I guess my point is that if you live in the United States of America you have the right to bear arms, and one would hope that right will never be infringed upon.

Oh, too late... some wingnut decided to try assassinating president Reagan, and a couple other wingnuts decided to rob a bank and fired a whole lot of 7.62mm rounds at the L.A. police force and messed it up for everyone. So now the only people who own assault rifles are the lawbreakers.

Sorry, I got off on a rant. Basically, it not what is being carried it's who is carrying it. If people don't understand that in your area, maybe you should move.

Most terrorists don't carry guns anyway, they carry bombs.
There are three kinds of people: sheep, wolves, and sheep dogs. Nothing wrong with being a sheep, most go thru life without ever harming anyone. Wolves prey on sheep. Sheep dogs protect sheep by keeping the wolves away and, on occasion killing them. Problem with sheep is they have trouble telling the difference between wolves and sheep dogs. They are just scared of anyone carrying a gun.

If you can find it, read the book, "On Killing". Explains a lot about people and violence.
