Mothers estate?
My mother passed away 13 years ago. It is not completely known whether her and my father were ever actually married. But by Texas law I believe they had a common law marriage. The house that they had just bought together had both there names on it. My father (whom i no longer talk to) continues to try toget my half brother to sign a piece of paper. (my half brother is my moms son). I know my father does not have me in his will nor do i know if my mother had a will. I think she might have but im not to sure. Does anyone have an idea of what kind of paper my father might be wanting my brother to sign and do i hold any legal rights to my mothers estate. When she passed i was 6 and until i was 17 did not recieve any of her SS money. I know my father invested it all into the stock market (for my benefit at the time) do i hold any rights to that?
My father is a very odd person. When my mother passed the entire family believed he did it (my sisters to be included). I remember him taking

He might be trying to get your brother to sign a power of attorney over to him so that he can make the decisions your brother would normally be making had he not signed the paper. I'd advise your brother not to sign anything and check with an attorney ( most first consultations are free) concerning everything you've asked. About the money you are entitled to (if you are) that your father put into the stock market and the house etc. A lawyer should be able to point you in the right direction if not help you. Good luck
