Is this a real Texas law?

There is a long standing story told in my family, I want to know if it is Myth or Fact.

They say that there is a law still on the books in Texas that a man can tie is wife to a bush (not a try) once a week (but no more) and beat her with a stick no larger than his thumb. True or False.Yes I know the idea of beat you wife is horrible and I would probably shoot my husband if he tried it. We are a family of cops with an odd sense of humour and I was just wondering if this is just a twisted joke or real. Please no posting on how horrible I am, or how bad it is. I know there are battered women out there and men who do that should be locked up. Please just answer this if you know, or think you know..

If you have no Clue - why not post other weird laws that you know are on the books. Might be fun.

It is illegal to drive without windshield wipers. You don't need a windshield, but you must have the wipers.
It is illegal for one to shoot a buffalo from the second story of a hotel.
It is illegal to milk another person's cow.
A recently passed anticrime law requires criminals to give their victims 24 hours notice, either orally or in writing, and to explain the nature of the crime to be committed.

I found more!!
--Texas law forbids anyone to have a pair of pliers in his possession.
--In San Antonio, it is illegal for both sexes to flirt or respond to flirtation using the eyes and/or hands. (i used to live in San Antonio and i am definately guilt of this one... officer lock me up and throw away the key..wink wink... oops did it again!!)
--Corpus Christi makes it illegal to raise alligators in your home.
--In Kingsville, there is a law against two pigs having sex on airport property.
--A city ordinance states that a person cannot go barefoot without first obtaining a special five-dollar permit.

--In Clarendon, TX., it is illegal to dust any public building with a feather duster.

--In Borger, TX., it is against the law to throw confetti, rubber balls, feather dusters, whips or quirts (riding crop), and explosive firecrackers of any kind. (Real party poopers)

--It is Texas law that when two trains meet each other at a railroad crossing, each shall come to a full stop, and neither shall proceed until the other has gone. ("neither shall proceed until the other has gone" where, how? In one of those "true facts" books there was an explanation for this law. It seems that one of the state senators did not want a law passed. To keep this particular law from passing he attached the train law to it. He hoped that fellow senators would discover the train law attached, see how ridiculous it was, and not pass the laws. Nobody saw the attachement and passed both laws. This may not be the real reason, but it sounds good. And it explains many of the laws we have to live with today.)
i dont know about that, but i'm sure it happens lol.
I'll ask my mom about this one,(she's from Texas) that's just silly! :)
