Is life getting too hard in Britain?
Answers:
It is for the Brits but not for the foreigners
Getting?
Is already there.
I think the question is 'Is it getting easier'.
You only have to sea why anti-social behaviour has increased, and thats down to too much free time. Kids are too lazy, even with all the facilities available, some just won't work, and they result to vandalism etc.
Not only is leisure time more now than ever, but people have more money than ever, especially kids again. People go out on the weekends with wads of hundreds of pounds...
And your saying life is getting harder? Hmmmm...
The only hard aspects of life are the working class who actually work for a living, whether it be factory workers, coal miners, and they come home with an average pay packet, unlike Mr Southern Man, with his 4x4, flash gear, and big house. Perhaps another silly aspect is the way our tax money is used, whether that be obese people who eat themselves to death (because of stupidly cheap food) and so our taxes pay for the treatmeant. Fair? I think not.
In fact, I think asylum seekers have a better lifestyle than most. 'Tony' (blair) would feel sorry for these guys, and give them everything they needed! A house, money, entertainment... hang on, what have they done to deserve that? Ah yes they broke a simple law. Perhaps another case of unfair justice is the case of the 'Jamie Bulger' murderers - new identities, a house, entertainment, money... same old story, we're just too nice.
And education? Well, do I need to say? I left school at the turning point, as I called it. Kids started shouting at teachers, throwing chairs around... everything you can think of. Why? Theirs nothing stopping them - they have too much freedom and not enough simple discipline.
At the end of the day, it depends where you live.
I can't have a cig when I want, I can't scratch my bum when I want, I can't argue with my partner when I want, I can't drink alcohol when I want. why? Because everywhere you go, everything you do, is bloody captured on CCTV!
Where i live in Scotalnd "Bonnie Dundee"(Junkie Dundee more like) Yes life is really hard, especially if your on the straight and narrow. Need alot of changes to brighten things up.
Probably, it is everywhere else.Hang in for a couple years, the good times will roll again.just business/economic cycle. Been doin' this since we started the country
life has got way too easy for some scroungers , but the morons like us who go to work and pay higher taxes have to work harder to supplement them.
it works both ways, well it should do.
its a communist state so id have to say yes.
'Is life getting too hard'??
Compared to life when? Or where exactly.
I am getting on a bit , not really ancient, but still getting on!
Old enough to remember when life was hard!
When I was a young kid One of my pet hates was old folk telling me "I remember when I was a lad"!
So I'm not going down that path.
What do you think is hard? Work too hard? Just think about it when did we have it any easier? I don't recall a time like that.
It gets harder because you are taxed on just about everthing, wages dont go up with the rate of inflation .Council tax what a laugh, the council have the nerve to write letters if ya wheelie bin is bursting with rubbish. Its always the same the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.Know wonder people start a new life in other countries,Great Britain is not so great.
Yes it is. It seems that we spend all week working hard to earn money to simply pay to live. Mortgages are high..rent is higher...gas.. elec...water...BT.. So we go get some credit to buy a well earned holiday..only to be told we cant take our kids out of school until the summer hols...and then have to pay three times as much (talk about between a rock and a hard place) Before we know it we are in debt...that causes stress on family and relationships to name a few.
We are constantly being discriminated against in our own country but in fear or being racist no one dare say or act how they feel. Our Doctors/nurses are frustrated because instead of giving care..they are filling paperwork in. They dont have the money to save lives because cash is paying the clipboard holders to achieve targets to get the money again next year which still wont go towards care. We have cancer killing our society but cant afford the drugs to cure it. Charity shops raising funds to help...but these are now run like businesses making money (because they also have bills too pay!)
We live in fear of being bombed because of a war we did not agree to.
We have government departs like CSA and DWP who are suppose to keep us out of poverty.but the system they rely on is beyond their training and too complicated to be accurate.
Our kids are not safe on the streets...our parents are not safe in residential care and we are not safe in our homes ..
If you would like to ascertain for sure if life is too hard or too soft... there is an accurate, detailed account here:
www.the-alternative.org.uk
Open the FREE Online Book,
for example: see: Chapter 1 (describes what life is like for kids in Britain),
Chapter 2 (discusses how hard it is to get housing - this also debates whether people are "scroungers")
& Chapter 11 (as this looks at i.e. provides an account of Politics in the UK).
Then you may just agree things ARE too hard...
and that by choosing to make life easier,
it will be possible to overcome many current difficulties
EG. the increasing Crime rate.
