Is it illegeal to own a fox in the state of California, I really want one and I hope its not illegeal?
I saw this video on youtube and a fox would be awesome, please help

You will need to obtain a special license that permits you to own and keep wild animals. You will be required to prove where and how you will feed, house and care for the animal, assuring the officials you have the proper knowlege and facilities for doing so and maintaining the public trust. There are several companies that supply wild animals to the motion picture industry, like Monkeys, Lions, Tigers and Bears. I'm sure one of these companies could assist you in your quest. It will not be easy or cheap. Like the above post asks, why not get a dog? Here is a list of contacts:

Here is a link to the California Dept. of Fish & Game, the Agency responsible for issuing your permit. It is highly doubtful they will issue you one for the purpose of keeping a wild animal as a pet. Even ferrets are illegal in California to keep as pets.

You don't need a fox. There are plenty of poor dogs killed each down at your local dog pound. Go there and pick out a nice dog, and forget the macho nonsense with wanting to control something from the wild like a fox.
Yes, it is illegal to own a fox in every state in the Union. However, you can marry one, if you're lucky! I believe it is legal in Somalia to own a fox, so why don't you move there and buy one.
