Eviction problem?
my question is about my neighbor. he is living in a house that was abandoned by his nephew. he is allowed to live there by his nephew. he has permission. he decided to rent some rooms out to some friends and some other guy. but now he wants to evict one of them but the guy doesnt want to leave. the guy says that the house isnt his and he doesnt have to pay. what can he do to kick him out? thanks . i live in CA. contra costa county

Does the guy getting kicked out have a lease? If so is it with the previous owner? If not he can try to put his rent money into escrow. Does the current landlord have any written documentation giving his responsibility for the property from the previous landlord? I say, take them to court, in some states you can be awarded financial compensation or even 3 times your security deposit under certain conditions.
The nephew has to take him to Superior Court.
