Is it a traffic violation to pull into a red zone (not stop)?
I was picking up my nephew @ summer school, I pulled into the red zone, but came to the stop in the correct area, & 2 days later I get a traffic ticket in the mail. The picture provided to me is my car, but at a angle pulling into the curb, not stopped. Is it illegal just to pull into or to stop ? "help"
I tried contesting it & the denied it. Next step is court & I dont want to waste my time. But then again it is a $225 fine.
Answers:
If the sign said no parking, it is legal to stop and pick someone up.
If the sign says "No stopping" then you are in violation.
The red zone is not a place to pull and it is the reason why you were sent a violation notice.
It depends on the wording of the law in the state you are in, which you did not provide.
Yes, you cannot even stop in a red zone. The yellow zone is for picking up and dropping off passengers. At no time are you allowed to stop by a red curb unless it is at a stop light, and the light is red.
