When you go to jail for a crime, and pay the bond to get yourself out...?

say the bail was $10,000... If you went to trial and were later found not guilty, do you get the $10,000 back?

I've always wondered this..

Answers:
If you pay BAIL to get out, then you get the bail back at the end of the trial.

If you pay a BOND fee, then you are paying a bondsman to make bail for you. The bond fee is non-refundable -- think of it as interest on the loan.

Only if you pay cash.
You get your bail money back, if you paid the entire bail yourself.

If you use a bondsman, then you only pay 10% of the bail, which is his fee. That is not refundable.
