Do you think Micheal Vick could get a fair trial even if he were Innocent?

He has already lost this case in public opinion. I hardly believe that they could find a jury that wouldn't punish him to the fullest extent of the law. How can he get a fair trial?

Answers:
Guilty or not I don't really care. I do, however, think Bob Byrd (US Senator, WV, D) only went off on him because he hates black people though.

No he won't get a fair trial. Not a chance. Though I do believe there is a good chance that he could end like another OJ Simpson.

No probabbly not but he is not innocent so it really doesnt matter.
the media tries everyone famous before they go to court, Vick can get a fair trial, because their are still many americans that believe innocent until proven guilty is more than just words.
He'll have to ask OJ.
nah he's going down big time for what he did?
yes.
He probably still has a better chance of getting off than if it were you or me.
Absolutely NOT!!

Even if is excuse is drugs, alcohol, or extreme depression, there is NO excuse for what he did. Dog fighting is not only a crime against the law, but a crime against HUMANITY. There is no fair trial for such a heartless criminal. No matter how famous.

but this is me and my strong-minded opinion. i really feel, though, that there is no possible way for him to get off easily.
I think they have totally overblown that whole story
Only if by "fair" you mean "not condemned by his celebrity." In fact, celebrities are more likely to be found innocent, whether they are or not (and I'm not saying who's guilty here, because I'm not sitting on any juries). OJ Simpson did. And that baseball player accused of rape did. Despite public opinion, Vick is rich enough to hire kick-butt legal counsel. so yes, I think he can get a fair trial.
if he does get a fair sentence and is sent up the river he can always ask for a commutation.
He can get a fair trial. Everyone said the same thing about OJ or the Duke Lacross kids, OJ was found not guilty, and when they realized the DA had no evidence the Duke kids had the charges dropped. Vicks problem isn't a fair trial, he will get that. The problem is he is being prosecuted by the US Attorneys office, who, unlike Mike Nifong and local DA's, don't make mistakes, and don't bring charges without sufficient evidence. They have an amazing 95% conviction rate, that is huge considering they usually only prosecute larger cases, no petty theft or similar crimes.
Yes he can. There are many people who don't follow sports. For example, my friend's mom doesn't follow sports and has no idea who Michael Vick is. She wouldn't know him if he was standing right next to her. Those are the kind of people that they can get for a jury. Believe it or not, there are people that are completely oblivious to the sports world.
The prosecutor's case hasn't even been presented to the public yet. I'm positive that they have more evidence than we know. On the other hand, we haven't any idea what Mr Vick and his attorneys have saved up in rebuttal of the charges. Lots of publicity in these cases brings an equal amount of 'opinions' from folks (myself and yourself included!) as to the outcome. So let's both take it easy and see what happens.
why who is Miceal Vick? never heard of him. and no i am not available to be on a jury.
Sure.

I would have no clue who Michael Vick was if I wasn't from Lynchburg. Just because he plays football doesn't mean that everyone knows who he is. When I see something about so and so baseball/hockey/whatever player was doing XYZ, no reason to even read the story.

He'll totally get a fair trial if both side do their jobs.
He seems obviously guilty, with a ton load of evidence to back it up. So be it, the jury will have to judge the case on the evidence and persuasiveness with which it is offered.
I think he can get a fair trial. Remember the JonBenet Ramsey case. Public opinion was hugely against her parents, yet a grand jury failed to even indict them. It wasn't that the jury had reasonable doubt...that doesn't come alone until trial. That jury didn't even see enough evidence to warrant a trial, even though the public was calling for the Ramseys' heads.
There are lots of people who have no clue who he is. He can get a fair trial.
nah, too much media coverage. The public has already convicted him. I think there isn't a person who has not heard this story.

Jury doesn't decide punishment - only if he is guilty or not guilty of the charges levied against him. It is up to a judge to impose sentence; and the DA can make sentence recommendations to the judge.

With that said - can he get a fair trial? In Atlanta, more of the people think he is innocent than guilty. So if they try him there, then he has a fair shake. But regardless, he has done something. If that were me, I would be claiming my innocense - he has done nothing of the kind, only to say he looks to clear his "good name". Did I miss something? When did he have a "good name"?
A fair trial? Seriously, the amount of evidence they have on him is overwhelming. People that he was associated with and friends/family members have cooperated in the case against him. Gimme a break, do you really think this is a set up? Witnesses have given statements to his being there several times & his knowledge of the killings, several carcases on the property. Read the indictment! Innocent, I think not! & If you say " were you there?" No I wasn't & neither were you but those witnesses were, why would they lie if he wasn't. Like you said, he is a millionaire so he didn't HAVE to do it, he didn't even have to do it to help them out, he has plenty of money. You also said a key word, "illegal", if he really wanted to help them out he could have set them up with a legitimate business that they could all benefit in the end. He is an adult, he knew what he was into, this documentation goes back approx 10 years according to the records. Sports icons, celebreties, the rich in general think they are above the law. No excuses for his involvement.
Too bad for him that Johnnie Cochran is dead, huh?
