Do a defendant respond to a demand letter?

My lawyer has sent 2 demands letters since May 1st to the defendant and he havent respond yet or his insurance company. We are starting to beleive that he didnt let his insurance company know yet. We know hehave insurance because when he got the first demand letter he came to me and said that his attorney said he could lose everything and his premium would go up? Why havent he respond to the demand letter? My lawyers would send them a copy of the letter they sent him but we dont know what insurance company he has. Any Info or advice?

Answer:
Call your lawyer and get him to order the defendant to appear at his office and answer some questions under oath. I give you more details in response to another question you asked so I won't repeat it here.

you can find out anything on the internet about anyone or any business.so i am sure your attorney's office can do a background investigation to locate this info.
the easiest way is contact your state insurance dept...they will have this info.and it is public information.

but aside from everything else..have your attorney set a court date.go to court.maybe he'll crack then.

good luck
