How do i????

file harrassment charges agianst someone who keeps calling my phone but blocks their number out?? the phone company says they can't give their number to me because it's a "private number". who should i contact next to get the number?

Answer:
File a complaint with your local police department.

They can not give YOU the number...but I believe they can give it to the Police who would call the person and put an end too it.

Well, they would try to put an end too it.

But perhaps this is a deranged person who is hell bent on being a part of your life...at any cost!

Well...I am sure that one call from the Police will pretty much put an end too it.

Good Luck!
You file a police report.

You take the police report to the phone company.

They will put what's called a "trap" on your phone. You record the time and date of the calls and provide this information to the phone company and they will forward the ID of the caller to the police.
The case would be filed using a civil procedure mechanism called "DOE" pleading. Not all states allow this, by the way.

But, if your state does, the lawsuit would be filed against "DOES #1~#10" as the defendant. Your attorney would then ask the court for an order compelling the phone company to release the call records to show who has been calling your house.

Once that information (discovery) has occurred, the pleading would be amended to substitute the name of the actual person for the placeholder. The reason multiple DOEs are listed is to allow for multiple possible defendants to be substituted.
