Why would I recieve information regarding an estate?

My aunt died and I got information regarding her estate but Im not an hier, why would I get this notice?

Answers:
In case you have a claim against the estate

Are you sure you are not an heir? Are you sure you're not in her final will? Are you sure her will (if she has one) is even valid, and that intestate succession wouldn't apply?

The laws require notice because until the estate has gone through probate, none of those questions are resolved as a matter of law. So, to prevent you from coming back 6 months later and challenging everything, you get notice now.
You are a relative and it just might be that the probate court in her jurisdiction is required by law to notify you.
