What is the legal percentage of window tint in texas?
I want to buy some tinting paper from walmart today.
I want to know what the maximum of everything I can get is.
Someone told me I can do two layers of something lighter to bypass the law or something but that sounds hard.

That tells you the laws. Whats that translate it into? I want to be absolutely sure I get the darkest and the still being legal.
What % paper is the darkest I can buy without breaking the law, and for what windows?
Is 1% darker than 30%? Or is 30% darker than 1%? I don't understand still. :(
Answers:
In Texas, the tint must allow more than 25% of the light in on the side windows.

Lower the number the darker the film. Therefore a 5% VLT only transmits 5% of the light. .a 25% VLT = 25%+- of the visible light.
Legally speaking you should factor in the glass itself since the law is a net . .the combined light level of the film plus the glass. I doubt there is actually a 1% film however. This would be equivalant to a black-out film.
TX law is 25% on driver side/passenger side/rear passenger windows. You are allowed any darkness on the rear window- -which typically is that 5% limo or as most people do. .go with a 15-18%
