Are tape based handheld recorders used for medical dictation HIPAA Compliant? Clairification.?

If we move to digital hand held recorders we will be docking them with a PC for secure download into a dictation system. There will not be removeable media. I know this method of medical dictation is more secure, but is there any documentation out there supporting this claim that I can use as ammunition to convince my physicians to switch from cassette based recorders. HIPAA must weigh in on this somewhere. Any ideas?

Answers:
Use Dictaphone.

Ask your local Radiologist.

Scribenet advertises use of digital recorders, so their site will probably have verbage regarding the claim.
So does webmednettranscription, burrows medical transcription. There are numerous others so I am sure at least one of their sites will contain verbage you can use.
