Wouldn't the Utah mine owner want to go slow to make sure they're dead so the miners can't say it wasnt an ...
...earthquake? Wouldn't it be cheaper for Mr. Murray to have his insurance pay the accidental death policies, rather than the negligence suits that would be filed if it was proven to be a case of negligence? If any survived, then he's basically a pauper. If they're all dead, then he remains a king.
Answers:
Good grief, I hope not. Actually, the miners would not be classified "experts" on if there was an earthquake. Seismologists have already came forward and said that the "activity" was caused by the mine collapse, and not an earthquake.
Either way, Mr. Murray will have his insurance pay accidental death policies, and negligence suits may follow. Mr. Murray wont be made a pauper. Unless its proven that HE cause the mine collapse, HE wont be personally responsible. I doubt that he had anything to do with the mine collapse, and I'm sure he sure doesn't feel like a king.
I actually feel bad for Mr. Murray. I know the miners families are going through their own personal hell right now, but Mr. Murray is in such a state of denial. Every time he speaks, he sounds completely out of it. He thinks they are alive, he believes it was an earthquake, he thinks they are inches away, etc. This will scar him emotionally for life.
probably so. he wants to go slow but if he goes too slow then the damn media would rip him a new one. nobody really cares about the miners anyway. don't do jobs where there are major risks. they put themselves in that position
Well with him being a coalminer himself (owners usually are not and I am not defending him) I doubt that that is the case. MSHA are the ones that have slowed this rescue to a crawl. And Staind what do you know? Do you like lights in your house, using your computer? Cold food and drinks? Where do you think that electricity comes from? Magic? Coalminers work hard and you may not care about them but they make it possible for alot of the things most take for granted.
It's been almost a week. There are no survivors. I pray that I'm wrong.
But to answer your question, the owner has to have a crapload of insurance. He is protected, personally, from any lawsuits.
Also, the media is saying that his mines have numerous MSHA and OSHA violations. They are for things like not having the stamp on the hard hat.
He does seem the type don't he?
LOL.
jemrx2...you heartless bastard...and I mean that in a good way. (reference to comedian Dom Irrera)
How could you even come up with a question like that. lol
It's a good thing that YOU aren't the mine owner.
I'd like to think that he doesn't want to risk the possibility of another cave in and cause the death of those men if they are still alive.
Let's all keep them in our prayers.
