What is the Missouri law on when child support ends?

I live in s.e. Missouri. my youngest was living with me when she turned 18 but till that point I still had to make support payments to ex wife. I went to county court house were the juvenile office ordered the stop of child support payments. they also gave me a letter basically saying "paid in full and not in arrears" this letter turned valuable as my ex had always claimed to my kids and her family that I had not paid support and they have seen the truth. sorry im no help on what the law says.
