Ethical or not?

I posted the wrong case a while ago. Sorry, this is the correct one

You have a gay colleague and former thesismate and thesis group leader, MC, who loves to wear what almost look like blouses to work.
MC graduated *** laude from CCS. You graduated with a CGPA of 2.5.
He joined the company 6 months before you did. His performance has always been solid despite his girly manner.
You have witnessed your boss and colleagues harass (laugh at) MC on several occasions.
You also know that all who joined the company at the same time as MC have already been promoted, but not MC.
Yesterday, your boss hinted that you would be promoted very soon and would become MC’s boss.
You asked your boss why he is favoring you over MC. He sniggered and said you were better. You disagree, but he’s the boss.
The promotion will mean a P20,000 increase in salary. You are currently paying your way through your MBA and are having difficulty making ends meet

Is it ethical for you to accept the job

Answers:
There are obvious arguments on both sides. On the one hand, if you take the promotion, you are benefitting from your company's obvious discriminatory practices. On the other hand, if you do not, they certainly are not going to give the job to the classmate. As the boss of the classmate you may have the opportunity to showcase his quality work and even, in the long run, convince the company that they are hurting the company by not promoting your classmate based on sexual orientation.

I'm not entirely sure what ethics have to do with the situation . . . I'm assuming MC is an adult and could handle this by himself.
Of course it is ethical for you to accept the raise. That does not mean that they are right treating MC the way they are but you don't have to take a bullet for him. Maybe as MC's boss you will be able to promote his work more. Maybe you'll find out there is some other thing holding him back, maybe not.

Or, maybe you and MC should jump to another firm that doesn't make you uncomfortable.
It's still the same question you asked before and I stand by my answer in the other thread.

On a side note I believe ethics is subjective in this case. So answer the question yourself without thinking there is a right or wrong answer (since there isn't) Once you find out what you believe is the right thing to do you should be able to handle yourself in class.
Would you promote Mr Hand over Mr Garrison?
knowone will promote some male who dresses like a woman.until he dresses appropiatly he will not be promoted. it is not good business to promote someone dressed like this when they have to face the public
