Overtime?

I just got my paycheck it says I worked 90.42 for two weeks.I figured I'd get 10.42 overtime...but I only got .42 overtime...I asked payroll and they said the 10 hours aren't overtime.where can I find the labor laws for California?

Answers:
yeah she is basically right. Overtime won't kick in until you have logged over 40 hours in a work week. Normal overtime rate is about 1.5 a normal salary. Your best option is to ask payroll to see a breakdown of the hours you worked that week because you are entitled to see that. Check and make sure you were properly logged for all your time and talk to payroll.

To qualify for overtime your job must not be exempt from overtime laws and the hours must exceed 40 hours in a work week which is not necessarily a calender week.
