is a solution for mugging a remote activated phone bomb you let them rob, then detonate when they are not near innocents?
Ie one you need to send a coded singla.. Let yourself get mugged then as soon as they are out of range detonate the fragmentation device much like a hand grande.
With no survivors they dont know what it looks like and either eliminate the scum or put them off it.
As said coded singlal to each individual one which the operators could send like the deactivation code.

(Sarcasm) Yes. Proportionality should not be considered in criminals. If they steal, blowing them up is obviously the best punishment. Forget the judicial system and fair trials. Just blow them up.
And yes I have been mugged. Still don't think the criminals need to be blown up unless they have killed someone.
What judicial system? have you been mugged? I have and it is the most frightening experience I have had (I have served in the army and seen and been involved in some horific conflicts) yet I am not prepared to be maimed or stabbed or shot for my mobile when I am defenceless and protecting someone (female) with me. Perhaps for the goody two shoes out there the phone could be activated to blow up and cover the perpertrator with an indelible dye that they can't wash off then let the judicial system take over and slap thier colourful little wrists after we have paid them compo for thier stress poor souls.

Absolutely a brilliant idea, I can foresee one small set back the mugger will probably steal the phone so by the time you get back on line and blow the B-----D to smithereens he'll probably be sat on a bus with a dozen kids, but what the hell there probably little sods anyway so lets blow them up as well, then there's the poor bus driver who will be killed in this microscopic nuclear explosion the man who looks after his sick mother but so what, if she dies because there's no one to look after her at least she wont be suffering anymore, yes lets do it.
It is a lovely idea; but it would produce too many complications. If you were found out you would possibly go to prison and meet some fabulous people who would do you more harm than the mugger.
That's actually murder.who made cell phone providers and carriers judges and juries? What happens if you misplaced your phone and thought someone stole it, reported and they activated the bomb only for you to realize one of your family or friends was using the phone?
