Cameras in dressing rooms but not on people?

If someone is stealing money and we wanted to catch them, what are the laws of putting a camera in a dressing room? Keep reading:
This room is used by dancers and I could place the camera just on the purse area. Is it still considered illegal? The dressing room is big and, unless they are weird, they would not be changing their clothes on the purse rack.

Answers:
As far as I know, a business owner can definitely be sued for putting a camera directly inside a dressing room stall or a restroom stall. Putting one in the purse area can be tricky, as it seems like a common public area, but you could lose the case if a good lawyer can establish that women have a "Reasonable Expectation of Privacy" there too. Are men freely allowed to go into that section? If not, then maybe it's best not to chance it. Hidden cameras are still a fairly new issue as far as civil law is concerned, and you don't want to become one of the first guinea pigs for the courts, so to speak.

NOT legal ! And someone could sue your *** off when they were discovered. You can't put a camera in the rest-room either.NOT legal, pal !
Not legal. What you could do is hire a dancer who would be willing to report the stealing going on to you, then you could just fire or lay off the thieves, without explaining why. But then of course you have to trust the dancer you hired for this.
I would suggest having a SEPARATE room and/or lockers for the purses. IF you put a camera anywhere near the dressing room, be CERTAIN it is CLEARLY visible and post a sign that the area is monitored.
